JOHN Goodfield hoarded dozens of items that were stolen from cars across Stroud, a court was told.
Goodfield, aged 18, of The Martins, Cainscross, Stroud, pleaded guilty to a charge of receiving stolen goods when he appeared at Stroud Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday, April 6.
Prosecutor Sharon Green told the court the goods were seized when police conducted a search of an address Goodfield shared with his girlfriend on September 17, 2010.
The items, was include an iPod Nano, a wallet, tools and a car CD player, were stolen by an acquaintance of Goodfield, who has since been convicted.
Dermot Clarke, defending, said despite the fact his client said he was told the items were not stolen before he took them in, he was prepared to take full responsibility for his actions.
"He says he has learnt his lesson and is aware of the affect this type of offence has on the wider community," said Mr Clarke.
Goodfield was ordered to do 80 hours unpaid work and was told to pay £110 costs.
