TEENAGER Tommy McInerney has won a prestigious award in recognition of his fundraising.
The Thomas Keble student received the Diana Award at a ceremony in London on Monday, July 2.
Tommy, 15, recently climbed the highest three mountains in England, Scotland and Wales in under 24 hours to raise money for Dementia UK, a charity he became involved in when his grandfather, who has sadly now passed away, was diagnosed with the condition.
The Year 10 pupil was nominated by his head of year, Mrs Jo Hurren.
Headteacher, Mr Chris Steer, said: "We are very proud of Tommy’s achievements. He is an excellent example of a young man determined to do his best to help others."
The Diana Award recognises young people across the UK for their fundraising, active citizenship, anti-bullying or courageous work.
Tommy was the youngest person to climb Mount Kilimanjaro last year and cycled from Land’s End to Bristol when he was at primary school.
He will climb the heights of the Welsh 3000 for his next fundraising event in September.
