PAGANHILL Post Office in Stroud remains closed this morning, Monday, September 17, following what is believed to be an armed robbery.
Early reports claim the postmistress was held at knife point and that a substantial amount of cash was taken, although this has not been confirmed by police.
The alarm was raised by staff in the neighbouring Tesco express around 10am after a customer called through the store's automatic doors to alert police.
An area around the post office has been cordened off and a number of officers are currently at the scene.
