A 19-year-old woman was assaulted on Russell Street, Stroud, on Sunday afternoon.
Around 12.45pm on Sunday, September 30, a woman from Calne in Wiltshire was walking along the road and was approached by a man and a woman.
The man tried to grab her mobile phone and the woman assaulted her.
They were interrupted by the victim’s boyfriend and ran away, throwing the woman’s phone back at her.
The woman was described as around 5ft 3” tall, in her early 20s and wearing a beige knitted jumper, brown leggings and boots.
Stroud was very busy at the time of the incident and officers are eager to hear from anyone that was in the Russell Street area that may have witnessed the assault.
Anyone with any information should contact Gloucestershire Police on 101, quoting incident number 210 of September 30.
