CAINSCROSS WI ladies have been out and about recently to enjoy some of the summer weather.

Firstly a group of eight of us thoroughly enjoyed a trip to Cotswold Playhouse, as part of a Bisley Group Event, when about ten members of the Cotswold Players entertained us all with songs from the Shows.

These included works from Cabaret, South Pacific, Les Miserables and many more much loved, and memorable, tunes.

In the interval drinks were served and a large array of homemade and delicious cakes were consumed!

Everyone agreed that they had really enjoyed the evening.

Secondly, 21 members celebrated the Cainscross Birthday Party with a coach outing to Defford, Worcestershire, where a group of their WI ladies catered for us in their lovely refurbished Village Hall.

Jacket potatoes with either chilli or cheese and salad were on the menu, followed by a delectable spread of desserts and cakes.

This was washed down with a glass of wine if desired, and rounded off with tea or coffee.

Some ladies also visited the nearby lovely St. James's Church and the Millennium Green.

Another thoroughly enjoyed evening with good company, good food and good cheer. If you would like to join in the fun, why not visit us on the first Tuesday of every month at St. Matthew's Church Hall, Cainscross.

The guest speaker will be Steve Morton with a quiz based talk on Gloucestershire Arthritis Trust and the competition will be for An amusing poem about infirmity.
