Saint James’ Church Quedgeley: Palm Sunday
SAINT James’ Church Quedgeley, began Holy week with a procession around the church yard.
The Palm Sunday celebration began with the blessing of palm crosses at the War Memorial at 10.30am, a procession around the church yard followed with the congregation carrying their palm crosses.
The procession is traditional and marks the beginning of Christ’s journey to the cross and his entry into Jerusalem.
The church also began its preparations to mark Easter by constructing an Easter garden within the Lady Chapel of the church with services being held throughout the week.
Father John Rector and Parish Priest said “Easter for the Christian community is the most important festival of the church’s year. It was lovely to welcome some new faces to our Palm Sunday celebration”
