ON MARCH 14, Gloucestershire Wheels for All, the inclusive cycling scheme run by leading charity Leonard Cheshire Disability, and started with a grant from the Postcode Community Trust, is calling for 100 cyclists to pedal 100 miles.

This is part of the charity’s ‘100 for 100’ challenges to celebrate it’s founder, war hero and global humanitarian Leonard Cheshire’s 100th birthday.

Disabled and non-disabled people from across the region will join the charity’s inclusive youth volunteering service, Can Do, to pedal to raise awareness of Leonard Cheshire’s belief that disabled people should be able fulfil their potential and live the lives they choose.

Leonard Cheshire care home resident Christian Summers is particularly looking forward to the event and said: “It’s great and fulfilling being able to cycle. I’m shattered at the end of the cycling sessions, but it’s helping me walk better, feel better and look better! I much prefer being able to cycle outdoors on a proper bike than on a static physiotherapy bike indoors.”
