Woodchester WI with Philip Taubenheim from Wotton Auction House

‘ANTIQUES Road Show’, ‘Cash in the Attic’, ‘Bargain Hunt’ fascinate us all, and Woodchester WI’s March speaker, Philip Taubenheim from Wotton Auction House, was no exception!

Philip gave us an interesting and entertaining peek into the fascinating life of an auctioneer, and then the opportunity to have our own ‘treasures’ valued.

No lost ‘masterpieces’ were discovered, but we all very much enjoyed the evening.

Other March activities have included our craft afternoon which provided a welcome crafty get-together on a particularly wet, grey afternoon.

Our Book Group report the ‘Kite Runner’ by Khaled Hosseini stimulated much discussion relating to both world affairs and family dynamics.

They look forward to their next meeting when Elizabeth Strout’s ‘Anything is Possible’ will be discussed.

Further afield members attended the GFWI Annual Council Meeting.

The Guest Speaker was Adam Henson of ‘Countryfile’ fame; a great ambassador of the Cotswolds and British Farming.

If you are interested in joining our busy, happy group, we would love to welcome you.

Please either contact me (angela.j.pryor@gmail.com) or join us at our next meeting on Thursday, April 19, 7.30pm, at Woodchester Village Hall where an entertaining evening of music and the spoken word by Spectrum is planned.

We hope to see you there.
