MADAM - This week two separate scientific studies were published linking processed red meat to major health problems.
The first found that women who eat more sausages, bacon and other processed red meats are at an increased risk of developing breast cancer, whilst the second study found that men who frequently eat such products are twice as likely to die from heart failure.
Numerous studies have also linked processed red meat to an increased risk of bowel cancer.
Those who eat a plant-based diet, however, have been shown to have a lower risk of heart disease, stroke, obesity and certain types of cancer.
Anyone wishing to move away from eating meat can contact Animal Aid on 01732 364546 or info@animalaid.org.uk to order a free guide.
