MADAM – David Buckle writing in SNJ (November 26), while appearing to support David Drew in a premature party election missive, actually proved to be an unwilling ambassador for Ukip.

How come?

Mr Buckle let it slip that Neil Carmichael would reject multi-millionaire Dale Vince’s proposal to build a wind farm in these parts, thereby destroying the prospect of many jobs, and went on to say that unless we all vote for David Drew, Ecotricity will not get to build them.

Well thank you very much, Mr Buckle. As the majority of us can’t abide these obnoxious contraptions despoiling our beautiful Cotswold landscape, it stands to reason that we won’t be voting for David Drew.

He is quite wrong in assuming that the next election will be a two-party challenge (Labour and Conservative).

Stroud has a very able and dedicated Ukip candidate by the name of Caroline Stephens who not only is opposed to windmills but has the figures to show how useless they really are, and cost-effective they are most definitely not.

Mr Dale Vince is naturally very angry with Ukip because they have been quite vociferous in their opposition to wind farms and the huge profits those such as Mr Vince are making at the taxpayers expense.

With the electorate fed up to the teeth with lies, incompetence and unwillingness to bond with the ordinary people that afflicts the mainstream parties, the next election, where Ukip will be prominent, will prove to be like no other in history.
