MADAM - It was interesting to read Mr Robert Paterson’s article regarding state of roads and pavements, and I agree the workmanship of road repairs today and over the last few years is disgraceful and, as he states, we are taxpayers who deserve better.
I was particularly amazed at the last paragraph from Mr Jason Humm, the highways manager, and I quote: “We work very closely with Amey on all schemes and we audit the quality of workmanship as required”.
So would someone tell me why the company has not been brought back to resurface the A38 through Whitminster to Hardwicke, at no extra charge to the taxpayer and make it a proper job that should last for years and not just a couple of months.
