SARAH Baker’s case against the so-called Eco Park planned to be built near Eastington is weak enough, without misleading comments like “a beautiful place”, and “Eastington is one of the very few rural villages left.”
There is nothing beautiful about Eastington – the area round the church and school are quite pretty, but they are nowhere near the proposed development.
The rest of Eastington is just a village.
As for “one of the very few rural villages left,” this is clearly meaningless.
Let’s be kind and assume it was taken out of context.
The Eco Park may or may not be a good idea.
What is certain is that the sadly predictable campaign against it needs some more realistic arguments.
