I JUST want to praise and thank the authors of A Parish at War.
It’s a fascinating read that covers the First World War and details how the parishes and families of Brownshill, Bussage, Chalford and France Lynch were affected by it; such an important part of the history of these villages.
It details each man that fought and lost his life away from home, while also detailing life at home while they fought.
It has been a fascinating, albeit humbling read and has sent me on pilgrimages to the graves to find these brave men who are now to me not just a name on a tombstone.
Thank you.
