Joe Clarke was dismissed for a career-best 135 as Worcestershire gained a slim first innings lead over Gloucestershire on the third morning of the Specsavers County Championship match at the Brightside Ground, Bristol.
The 19-year-old Shropshire lad had hit 17 fours when bowled by Liam Norwell with a good delivery that nipped back off the seam.
Ben Cox, who had his bat broken in half when defending the first delivery of the day from Kieran Noema-Barnett, made 69 before falling to the second new ball, having added 155 for the sixth wicket with Clarke.
Worcestershire had reached 394 for nine, a lead of 14, when rain forced an early lunch at 12.40pm, Matt Henry contributing a useful 26 not out and Norwell having claimed three for 103.
