SPORTS therapist Ian Weston is backing Sam Wedgbury to “come back stronger” after tearing his anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee.
A scan at the Cheltenham Cobalt Unit this afternoon revealed the extent of his injury sustained on Saturday against FC Halifax Town.
Wedgbury is set to be operated on in the next fortnight by leading knee specialist Harminder Gosal.
“Sam will come back stronger,” said Weston. “He is 100 per-cent in everything he does and throws his heart into everything.
“We will wait until the swelling goes down and then get him in with Harminder for his operation and then start his rehab and look at getting him fit by the new year.”
