Weston- super-Mare 3
Forest Green 5
ELLIOTT FREAR starred as a centre-forward as he bagged a first-half brace against National League South outfit Weston-super-Mare.
In a match, which saw Rob Sinclair return from injury, Keanu Marsh-Brown helped himself to a second-half brace.
Jake Mawford pulled a goal back for the Seagulls with a neat finish, but Marcus Kelly made it five from the edge of the box.
Mawford picked his spot again with a sumptuous strike in the dying embers of the match and Weston made it three from the penalty spot on the cusp of the final whistle.
And assistant manager Scott Lindsey,44, rolled back the years with 12 minutes to go.
Earlier, Weston boss Scott Bartlett’s named former Forest Green defender Aden Baldwin, signed on a three-month loan from Championship side Bristol City.
French goalkeeper Simon Lefebrve caught the eye on a comfortable night for Rovers at Woodspring Stadium.
