Gloucester Rugby return to European Rugby Challenge Cup action away at Benetton Treviso on Saturday, and make just two changes to the starting line-up that defeated Worcester last weekend.

The Cherry and Whites know that they will need to win in Italy to keep pace with La Rochelle at the top of pool one and keep faith with the majority of the side that started the 55-19 win over the Warriors last Saturday.

In fact, the only change up front sees tighthead prop John Afoa, the scorer of a fine try in that game, return to the starting line-up in place of Salesi Ma'afu. And James Hook, recovered from flu, replaces Tom Marshall at full back.

There are, however, several changes amongst the replacements, the most welcome being the return of hooker Darren Dawidiuk after injury.

Props Paul Doran-Jones and Yann Thomas both come in, while scrum-half Willi Heinz is back after missing last weekend.

Speaking to the media on Thursday, Defence Coach Jonny Bell admitted he is expecting a tough encounter over in Italy.

"I know quite a bit about Treviso. They're a strong side, especially at home. They lost very narrowly at home in the Pro 12 last week to Glasgow.

"We know that when you go over there, you have to be physical, you have to muscle up and you have to get your detail right. We're fully focused on getting the result we need.

"It's a cliché, but we can only take care of our own business. If you look at the group at the moment, I suppose La Rochelle are in the box seat. But we have to get our own shop in order and respect Treviso at home and get the job done first and foremost.”
