Jack Fitzwater looks a hot-prospect
The on-loan West Brom centre-back played with a maturity that belies his tender years. On this evidence he looks more than capable of coping with the demands of League Two.
Lee Collins caught the eye
The summer signing from Mansfield didn’t put a foot wrong in a cup tie that went the distance. Collins likes a tackle, but boy can he play and his deliveries were on the button.
Luke James worked his socks off
Buzzed about like an angry wasp. James has a sure touch and just needs a goal to get his Forest Green career up and running.
Shamir Mullings huffed and puffed
Made an impact and ruffled feathers following his introduction from the bench. Created plenty of opportunities, but just lacked that killer instinct in front of goal. Missed a great late chance to take the game into a penalty ‘ABBA’ shoot-out.
A defeat felt like a win
Manager Mark Cooper was rightly proud of his League Two newcomers against a talented MK Dons, who are looking to challenge at the top end of League One. Rovers more than matched the Dons and will need to take this injection of confidence into a testing clash at title challengers Mansfield Town this weekend.
