Rover steal a point

MARK BEESLEY'S 93rd minute equaliser saw Forest Green come from two behind to gain a point at Exeter on Tuesday.

Goals from Richard Logan and Jamie Mackie put Rovers 2-0 down at the break, but strikes from Stuart Fleetwood and substitute Lee Dodgson on 53 and 55 minutes had Paul Tisdale's side rocked.

However, Rovers were shocked when a short corner saw Dean Moxey angled shot hit Logan's shoulder and flew past a stranded Ryan Robinson.

Three minutes later Robinson had to back-pedal and tip over Mackie's header from 12 yards. Harvey had seen enough and abandoned his experiment with three centre-backs on 21 minutes.

Olly James was sacrificed f and replaced by Dodgson. However, it was 2-0 on 30 minutes. Logan struck the bar with a chip from 20 yards and Mackie drove home the rebound.

A clever reverse pass from Fleetwood saw Les Afful miss a splendid chance against his old club. After the break Beesley's pass saw Fleetwood finish smartly for his fifth goal of the season on 53 minutes.

Anthony Tonkin's lofted ball created Rovers' parity, as Dodgson nipped between Steve Tully and Marriott and smartly lifted his shot into the net. Rovers were on top. Darren Jones saw his header from Simon Clist's corner cleared off the line by Lee Elam.

Nonetheless, Logan found space to crash home his second of the evening from an Elam cross. Afful was denied a penalty when he was felled by Marriott, but at the death Rovers gained a point. Clist's corner struck Chris Giles and was tucked away by Beesley.
