Painswick 12
Tewkesbury 27
Painswick’s unbeaten start to the season came to a shuddering halt as they were taken apart by a ruthlessly efficient Tewkesbury team.
They were taken apart by the strong running and passing from the visitor’s forwards and backs who, with the help of some weak tackling, ran in 4 tries within the first 20 minutes.
By half time the score was 45-7 with Tom Powell getting a try for Painswick concerted by James Harber. Tewkesbury continued to dominate with five more tries in the second half with Painswick’s only response an unconverted try from flanker Danny Whittaker.
Painswick now have two weeks to regroup before travelling to Victory Park for the highly looked anticipated local derby with Cainscross.
