CIRENCESTER TOWN boss Charlie Griffin is urging Forest Green and Swindon Town fans to come and support his promotion-chasing side this weekend.

Mark Cooper’s League Two outfit are without a game this weekend and Richie Wellens’ side play in the FA Cup on Sunday.

Griffin, a former Forest Green and Swindon Town striker wants a bumper crowd to cheer on his side for their Southern Football League Division One South and West clash at home to Fleet Town on Saturday, 3pm.

“It would be great to see as many FGR and Swindon fans as possible at our home game on Saturday,” said Griffin.

“There is plenty of time for Christmas shopping and with a wet weekend forecast a lot of games are expected to be off, but our game will be definitely on due to our 4G surface.”

Town boast a raft of former Forest Green players, including Michael Pook, who has also played for the Robins, Tommy Anderson, former academy players Luke Merchant and Jack Freeman - loan signing Tommy Ouldridge and Louis Spalding are former Town starlets.
