Stow II 5 - Painswick Utd 22.

THE United produced a workmanlike performance to continue their winning start in the Merit Table on Saturday.

Stow came up against a determined pack who put their marker down on the very first scrum, winning it against the head. With skipper Ian Maller securing excellent ball in the lineouts the United dominated the set-pieces once again.

With plenty of good ball, the United played a fast open game which stretched the home side's defence on a regular basis.

However, it was their dominant forwards who produced the first try with a catch and drive at a lineout with replacement Nathan Vizor claiming the touchdown.

Centre Eddie Bressington added the extra points, he also added a penalty, to give the United a 10-5 lead at the interval.

In the second half the United were camped entirely in Stow's half. Vizor added his second try after the forwards had battered their way through Stow's defence.

Another catch and drive at a lineout produced the United's third try with scrum-half Martin Hayward crashing his way over, Bressington duly added the conversion to complete the scoring.

This was another excellent team performance with forwards and backs combining well.
