Forest Green Rovers 4 Stevenage Borough 2.

A brace a piece by deadly duo Stuart Fleetwood and Mark Beesley, saw Rovers back in form against a highly fancied Stevenage Borough.

The home side came back twice before running clear giving a superb performance to send the supporters home happy.

After constantly leaking goals during the past 3 games, Manager Jim Harvey brought Mark Preece back in the starting line-up and moved Darren Jones to right back. John Hardiker, Michael Brough and Andriano Rigoglioso still are unfit, thankfully Danny Carey-Bertram made a return from injury in sit on the bench.

Stevenage was quick out of the blocks with fierce shots from Mark Molesley and Adam Miller, keeping Ryan Robinson on his toes.

The keeper was soon in action again, denying Molesley with a fantastic save.

At the other end Rovers suddenly sprung into action with Fleetwood and Afful having shots blocked before Jamie Pitman fired just wide.

Darren Jones and Stevenage's Tes Bramble received a caution each with a bit of a push and shove in the box.

Stevenage took the lead in the 17 minutes when Santos Gaia rifled in a curling free-kick after Pitman had brought down Bramble outside the box.

The visitors lead was short lived on 21 minutes, good interplay between Fleetwood and Beesley saw the later slot home past Alan Julian in Stevenage's goal.

The break arrived in deadlock yet the visitors were soon to retake the lead when Gaia was given too much room and easily headed past a stranded keeper.

Back came Rovers within 2 minutes with Fleetwood's first goal of the night. Dodgson found the striker wide open to fire low in the right hand corner, the visitors appealing for offside but Barry Fuller clearly kept Fleetwood on side.

By now Rovers were in full flight and forcing Stevenage into errors, Fleets speed forced Gaia into losing the ball on the edge of the box and within minutes the home side and taken a 3-2 lead.

With 20 minutes left to play Beesley scored the best goal of the night, receiving the ball out wide, he cut in and curled a 20 yard effort past the diving Julian.

A good night all round for the striking duo, and the up and down season was again back on track for Manager Jim.
