Forest Green defender Farrend Rawson has called for positivity following Rovers' defeat to Mansfield Town.

Rovers were narrowly beaten at the One Call Stadium on Saturday, a defeat that has damaged their hopes of automatic promotion.

Rawson insists there is still plenty to be positive about and is keen to take that into the coming matches.

"In these situations we just have to take positives now," he said. "Overall I think there was more positives than negatives. We've come to a really hard place, they're and we've competed and if anything we probably should have came away with the result.

"I thought we defended really well but there was a lot of positives, Udoka (Godwin-Malife), made his debut, I'm really happy for him but we put in a good defensive display and we were unlucky and on another day it could have been a different result."

The goal has caused some debate as to whether Lewis Ward was fouled and whether CJ Hamilton was offside in the build up and Rawson felt Ward was impeded.

"It happens so quick and there's debate about it but it's for the linesman and referees to decide not me. Personally I think there was a foul in their goal but that's up for debate but the lads were unbelievable, especially second half.
