GLOUCESTERSHIRE BATTER Chris Dent is bringing a star-studded team to take on local cricketers at Stone CC.
The game, at 6.30pm on Tuesday July 23, is to raise funds for the former county captain’s testimonial year.
Dent’s team will play a side comprising players from Stone, Cam, Oldlands and Thornbury.
He will also coach local youngsters from 5pm.
Chris Dent: “I’m very grateful to Stone CC for hosting this event. If it’s anything like previous games here, it’ll be a fun occasion.
“We’ve always had a craic playing here in the past and we’re looking forward to doing the same again.”
Stone CC chair Pete Lavis said: “Denty is a Gloucestershire legend, having helped us win the Royal London Cup at Lord’s in 2015 and captained us to promotion in 2019.
“He’s consistently scored runs at the top of the order and was unlucky to have missed out on an England call-up.
“We’re very proud to be hosting him at Stone and hope the local cricketing community turns out in force to give him the support he deserves.”
A bar will be open all evening, with food also available. Denty will be holding a raffle throughout the evening with people being able to win a selection of signed Gloucestershire CCC goodies and other prizes.
All purchasers of advance tickets will also receive a free raffle ticket.
In the case of rain, Denty has agreed to take part in a Q&A session at the club.
Tickets cost £10 (under-16s free) and are available at the gate or in advance from - Tinyurl.com/ys4dze7e
