Our readers have nominated the top 10 takeaways in Stroud, and for the next week we’ll be profiling each of them so you can choose the Stroud News & Journal Best Takeaway 2021 winner.

The Nippy Chippy is our eighth contestant, which has been a feature of Stonehouse for around 20 years.

The family business has been getting busier since the pandemic started, with more orders for their fish and chips, burgers and kebabs.

After finding out their efforts had earned them a top 10 spot, manager Brad-Lee Navruz said: “It’s really great, and if we won I’d be over the moon. We’ve owned the shop for about 20 years now and we’ve just been working really hard, especially through lockdown. I’ve been pulling my hair out a few times honestly.”

If you think the Nippy Chippy should be crowned the best takeaway in Stroud, you can vote for them using the voting coupon in this week's paper (Wednesday, February 24 edition).

Or take a look at the other restaurants we've profiled this week here:

Once you've got your coupon, simply post it to: Stroud News & Journal Best Takeaway, Redhill House, 227 London Road, Worcester WR5 2JG.
